He is part of the Regional Operations & Technology leadership team that supports business & functions in their focus on accelerated growth in the Eastern Africa
A seasoned banker with over 30 years of experience across Corporate & Retail Banking Operations and Technologies in Africa, John’s career spanned across 13 African countries and is placed to offer a broad perspective based on his own multicultural heritage. He has held regional roles at Barclays & Absa and supported technology startups and business development in Africa.
Before joining Access Bank, he was the Chief Information Officer at Standard Chartered Bank, Botswana where he was responsible for Bank’s Operations and Technology functions driving innovation and efficiencies. He held several other leadership positions at Standard Chartered Bank
John is an accomplished professional who holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management Studies from the Management College of South Africa, and a Management Development Programme (MDP) from the University of Stellenbosch Business School. He has completed an MBA programme and is a keen environmentalist who believes the world can be saved from self-destruction.
